Installation
The True Connect installation process will install the True Connect client and this help file to the PC.  The True Connect client will install the device specific files to the mobile device dynamically.  This dynamic installation will mean that as new mobile devices are attached to the PC they will automatically become operational.

To install True Connect, simply execute the setup.exe file on the PC and follow the instructions that accompany the installation process.

Firewall
As part of the installation process a dialog similar to the following may be displayed:

"Unblock" should be selected to trust the True Connect client on the PC.  If True Connect is blocked it cannot connect to the mobile device.

Configuration

It is recommended that ActiveSync be set to a "Pass Through" connection.  The benefit of a "Pass Through" connection is the mobile device will use the PC's resources rather than its own in managing the connection.  For example while surfing the web using True Connect with a "Pass Through" connection, the Internet connection of the PC will be used rather than that of the mobile device.

To set ActiveSync to "Pass Through",

Using ActiveSync 3.8
1) Open ActiveSync on the PC
2) Select Options for the toolbar
3) Select the Rules tab
4) Set the "Pass Through" connection to "The Internet":



Using ActiveSync 4.x

1) Open ActiveSync on the PC
2) Open "Connection Settings" from the File menu
3) Set the "The computer is connected to:" to "The Internet":
