Navigation Buttons
This section applies to Smartphones (Non Touch-Screen devices) only.

There may be times when it is necessary to use the smart keys on your Smartphone and/or have the ability to use the device's joystick. An example of the need to use the joystick might be when using applications that do not fully support mouse click support.   See Limitations of using the mouse pointer.

True Connect provides access to both the smart keys and joystick via Navigation Buttons. The Navigation Buttons are accessed from within any Smartphone application. Once activated the Navigation Buttons can be used to control the device's application currently in use.

To access True Connects Navigation Buttons:
  1. Ensure the Smartphone has focus by dragging the mouse pointer it.   Refer to Establishing a Connection
  2. Press and hold the right mouse button.
The Navigation Buttons panel will now appear on your Smartphone as follows:

                                       

Using the mouse pointer left click on the desired Navigation Button to perform an action on your Smartphone. The following describes the function of each of the Navigation Buttons:

Simulates a joystick UP action.  For example if viewing the list of Contacts, each click on this button will move the highlight up one position within the list.
Simulates a joystick DOWN action.  For example if viewing the list of Contacts, each click on this button will move the highlight down one position within the list.
Simulates a joystick RIGHT action.  For example if editing a contact name, each click on this button will move the edit cursor right one character within the text field.
Simulates a joystick LEFT action.  For example if editing a contact name, each click on this button will move the edit cursor left one character within the text field.
Simulates an ENTER action of the joystick (i.e. a press of the joystick). For example if viewing the list of Contacts, clicking on this button will select the Contact for viewing.
Simulates the pressing of the HOME button. This action will return to the mobile device's home screen and the Navigation Buttons panel will be closed.
Simulates the pressing of the BACK button.  Each press of this button will return to the previous screen from which the user navigated.
Simulates the pickup button.
Simulates the hang-up button.


The Navigation Buttons can be dismissed by left clicking away from the Navigation Button panel.
