Purchasing and Licensing
True Connect provides a free trial period in order for users to evaluate the product before they purchase.  This trial starts from the date and time True Connect is installed.  Once the trial period expires you will be unable to drag the mouse to the device making True Connect inoperable.  On opening the Configuration Manager the status will read "Expired".

If you have already purchased and licensed True Connect please refer to Upgrading True Connect.

At any time you may choose to purchase a license key which will enable the product indefinitely.  There are two mandatory steps in fully enabling the True Connect product:

Once True Connect has been purchased a license key is NOT automatically sent via email, instead the license key has to be applied for using the "Register" button within True Connect.

Purchase

True Connect must be purchased before a license can be applied for.  During the payment process you will be requested to enter an email address.  This email address will be required as part of the Licensing process.

Once purchased you are now able to request a license key.

License Key Generation

The License Key is requested using the True Connect Settings "General" tab.  On opening the True Connect Settings you are informed that the version of True Connect is Unregistered and the number of days remaining on the Trial Period.

A License Key is requested using the Register button of the True Connect Settings "General" tab.  On pressing the button the following dialog will be presented.

Two pieces of user information are required in order to register True Connect

The email address provided during Registration MUST match the email address used when purchasing the product.    If the email address provided during registration does not match the email address when purchased, then a license key will not be issued.

For example you may be registering the product to Andy Jarvis using andy.jarvis@raspberrysoftware.com email address.  Andy Jarvis has already purchased the product quoting andy.jarvis@raspberrysoftware.com during the payment process.

Once the Owner Name and Email address have been entered, press the Register button to send these details to the Registration Server.  Before sending back a valid license key the Registration Server will verify True Connect has been purchased.

Once the Register button has been pressed the following message will be presented informing the user a connection will be made to the Registration Server.   Press OK to continue.

Assuming a valid purchase has been made and the email address matches the email address used for the purchase then the following message will be received.

The Registration Key will be automatically entered into the registration dialog, for example:

That is it, you have now successfully registered the True Connect product.

If you have no internet connection or you are encountering issues Registering True Connect please refer to the Licensing Troubleshooting.
