Clipboard Sharing

Clipboard sharing is only available in True Connect Pro.

There are two clipboards available to True Connect:

  1. The PC Clipboard
  2. The Devices Clipboard.

The Clipboard Sharing feature provides the ability to share or preserve the clipboards of the touch-screen device and the PC.

To use the Clipboard Sharing option open the True Connect Configuration Manager and go to the "Keys" tab

Under the keys table there is an Enable Clipboard Sharing option which is checked by default.  To change the Enable Clipboard Sharing setting, simply check/uncheck the option and press Apply or OK

Clipboard Sharing only applies to Touch-Screen devices and it is therefore only visible when the "Set key mappings for" is set to Touch-Screen Device.

Shared Clipboard ON
With this option checked, performing a Cut/Copy on one peripheral (PC or device) will place the contents of the clipboard on the other peripheral. In effect True Connect is creating a shared clipboard between the two devices.

Example 1
Performing a Cut/Copy action on the PC will populate the mobile devices clipboard with the same contents as the PC clipboard.  Any Paste action will result in the PC's clipboard being pasted to the mobile device.

Example 2
Performing a Cut/Copy action on the mobile device will populate the PC clipboard with the same contents as the mobile device's clipboard.  Any Paste action will result in the mobile device's clipboard being pasted to the PC.

Shared Clipboard OFF
With this option unchecked the PC and mobile devices clipboards will operate independently of each other.   A Cut/Copy action on the mobile device will only populate the mobile device's clipboard and the Cut/Copy action on the PC will only populate its own clipboard.  This feature is useful if performing a number of Cut/Copy actions on both devices and you wish preserve both peripherals clipboard contents.

Cut/Copy/Paste will only be applied to text, pictures cannot be cut, copy or pasted.  In addition any formatting applied to the Cut/Copied text is not preserved.

Ctrl-A (Select All), Ctrl-C (Copy), Ctrl-X (Cut) and Ctrl-V (Paste) operate regardless whether Shared Clipboard is on or off.
