If you have not already purchased and obtained a license key for True Connect V1.0 or V1.1 or True Connect Lite then this chapter is not applicable. Please refer to Purchasing and Licensing. |
True Connect provides a free 14 day trial period of True Connect Pro in order for users to evaluate the product before they purchase. This 14 day trial starts from the date and time True Connect is installed. Once the trial period expires you will be unable to drag the mouse to the device making True Connect inoperable. On opening the Configuration Manager the status will read "Expired".
Once the Trial period has finished the following choices are open to the user.
At any time you may choose to upgrade purchase a license
key which will enable
the product indefinitely. There are two mandatory steps in fully
enabling the True Connect product:
|
Once True Connect has been upgrade purchased a license key is NOT automatically sent via email, instead the license key has to be applied for using the "Upgrade" button within True Connect. |
Purchase
True Connect must be upgrade purchased before a license can be applied for from Raspberry Software.
Once purchased you are now able to request an upgrade license key using True Connect.
Upgrade License Key Generation
The License Key is requested using the Configuration Manager "General" tab.
On opening the Configuration Manager you are informed that the version
of True Connect is Unregistered and the number of days remaining in the
Trial Period.

|
You will notice that while you have previously purchased a license key for True Connect the General tab now specifies the product as "Unregistered", this is because the license key you currently have is not applicable to the version you are currently using, until the upgrade license key request has been made. |
A License Key is requested using the Register
button of the Configuration Manager "General" tab. On pressing the
button the following dialog will be presented.

Press the Upgrade button to send these details to the Registration Server. Before sending back a valid license key the Registration Server will verify True Connect has been upgrade purchased by using the email address entered as a lookup.
Once the Upgrade button has been pressed the following message will be presented informing the user a connection will be made to the Registration Server. Press OK to continue.

Assuming a valid purchase has been made of True Connect and the email address matches the email address used for the upgrade purchase then the following message will be received.

That is it, you have now successfully registered the upgraded True Connect product.
If you have no internet connection or you are encountering issues Upgrading True Connect please refer to the Licensing Troubleshooting.
